One happy kid...
Oh boy its Sunday and im very satisfied, this weekend went very well I didnt have much planned but turns out I was baking all weekend and i enjoyed every bit of it. I made a cake for a coworker and then baked a cake for a boy who turned nine, he was having a big party so they ordered a half sheet cake, chocolate fudge cake, with chocolate buttercream it was absolutely adorable, the best part was seeing his eyes light up he leaped for joy, and that really made me happy it fulfilled the part of me that has been longing to be a part of these happy occasions, so tonight here i sit on my bed my heart over flowing with joy I am so happy and cant wait to see how many more delicious experiences i will have in the next 6-8 months.

What da ya know!
Wednesday! YAY! weeks almost over cant complain much either today was a great day just doesnt erase the fact that im tired and exhausted. I spent most of last night baking cakes and cupcakes after dinner and making four batches of frosting it was tiresome but i enjoyed it because it feels like second nature to me. im hoping to put together some interesting flavors that are unique and delicous Im planning to do some DIY advertising with business cards my husband made the other night they turned out great and they look very nice. My excitement still soaring higher and higher everyday I feel so blessed to be on this delicious journey.

Cold sores and burnt Cake
Wow! it was a crazy weekend I had two cakes to do this weekend and both turned out great. with that being said i was realy stressed about them, so much that I stressed my way into a cold sore on my bottom lip. Thats a real delicious experience presenting someone with a cake and BOOM! there's a big old cold sore on your lip, I think those things can make even the most confident person feel insecure, and overly self conscious, I put some cream on and covered it with a slice of garlic and a bandage and my 9yr old comes to me and innocently says "Mom you look like your wearing a chin strap for football" it was funny and let me know how ridiculous I was acting and looking with all that dangling on my bottom lip, I was just trying to speed up the healing process of this treacherous crusty annoyance on my lip.....WOOOOSAAAAA! All is going great im really feeling more confident every week about my skills and im having fun, however I always want every cake to turn out perfect, not the case this weekend... I ended up burning 2 cakes thursday night and had a tantrum under my breath while the smoke alarms went off and here comes my husband strolling into the kitchen and in this cool collective tone he says "babe its just cake all bakers make these types of mistakes its a great learning experience, its just cake its not brain surgery you havent made a fatal error that cant be fixed" Im thinking ya okay you dont get it at all,...then I realized he was right OR... he's been watching way too much Ace of Cakes with Duff because thats what he always says on the show. So after cooling off we ate dinner and ended the weekend roasting marshmallows and making smores on the patio

Time for Cake....
So glad its thursday its been a rough week, in and out of work, I worked a long time last night cleaning the house top to bottom, I did the floors by hand as usual and im paying for it today my back is stiff as dried out clay. The hospital was busy to day my goodness I was "humpin it" as my mom would say getting the patients checked in so glad its my weekend, it time for cake yay im very excited my mind has been running wild with ideas of desing for cakes time to put them to the test. Ive decided to make cakes for the teachers at gabes school kind of like an end of the year celebration, but also in hope of getting a few clients. On the way home tonight i stopped in hobby lobby to get some styrofoam for "cake dummies" that way i can start my portfolio, it really gets to be a drag having to bake a cake everytime i want to practice new decorating ideas(i know how to bake its the designing im trying to perfect), With that being said tonight I have to bake a cake when I get home so I can practice an idea thats bee running thru my mind. YAY YAY YAY!!! This week im also going to make marshmallow fondant so i can get that under my belt, can you believe they charge $7.00 for 2 medium sized chunks of white fondant??? and the colors are $10.99, and they dont but in nearly enough to cover a large cake, im too new to this industry to go broke over night so im gonna make it my self, pictures will be coming soon, off to the craft store for now!

The Journey begins
What a weekend, my weekend usually starts on fridays because im off, as of saturday I started my cake classes I was soo excited that on friday night i decided to make a one layer cake with fondant frosting. Considering i had never done this before it turned out very well everyone was impressed working with fondant is not as hard as people say, i ended up taking the cake to mothers day dinner with our moms on saturday evening at Brio we had a great time eating and laughing. I also made a cake for work last night and it turned out well also I used all buttercream frosting and strawberry cream cheese filling, it was a hit with the whole floor I was so proud of my creation not only was it eyecatching it tasted very good it was moist and rich with lots of flavor, I already have someone at work asking me to make he and his wife an anniversary cake and possibly a birthday cake for another co worker, im so excited and pray they truly give me the chance to show them exactly what my imagination is capable of creating im so excited i can barely contain my self but i must because i dont want to burn out because im only at the beginning stages of this journey. So far the class instructor is good she explains everything and why we do it this way or that way and alternative ways of doing certain things I know she can only teach me so much which is fine because I plan to practice and put in overtime to perfect my skills. Seeing that I stayed up last night working on the cake for work i will post pictures hopefully tomorrow as for now im calling it a night real early time for more cake dreams.

In my wildest dreams...
I started my day off with water aerobics it was truly a great workout, however it was very funny too I'm thinking there had to have been a sale a the local swim wear shop because six of the ladies had on the same suit it was plum colored and very boring the look on their faces was priceless every time another came into class wearing the same suit. :) On my way home I went to the craft store and bought a few things for my cake decorating class I'm starting tomorrow, there haven't been many things I've gotten overly excited about in my life, but I'm absolutely overflowing with excitement I really feel confident about this although I know it wont be a "cake walk". I have always wanted to be a part of planning a special event for a special occasion and this may possibly be a way for me to start expressing my creativity like I've always wanted too. I'm prepared to make some mistakes and succeed at the same time, every since registering my mind has been going nonstop day dreaming about the wonderful sugar arts I can create. I really hope I get a chance to show the world that I'm not just a mom and wife with a pretty face, whose obsessed with jeans, purses, shoes and has a good punch line every now and then I am unique, creative and artistic. I want people to gather around in awe of my creations and Experience Delicious flavors that cause their taste buds to jump up and down and explode with excitement. Yes I know it may sound cocky to some but hey I gotta toot my own horn to last in this competitive industry, so tomorrow I'm embarking on a new journey so wish me luck. As for now my eyelids are heavy so I'm off to bed in hopes of sweet dreams covered in light fluffy buttercream frosting, so I guess I'll have to wait till morning to see what happens when.... "I bake my cake and eat it too" :) Goodnight Friends!

Yay its official!!!!
Here I am at 10:28pm finally got my blog up and running yay!....Okay so yes it still needs some work however...Im still very excited to be online. What a week its been I work at a wonderful pediatric center which i truly enjoy but it can truly try your patience never the less im glad its friday. Cant believe its may and we are still having chilly weather, i had planned to get my garden started this weekend but I think i'll have to wait atleast another week. :( As a child I always hated yard work in fact I remember telling my mother that I would hire someone to come take care of my lawn so I didnt have too and that i never would have a flower or vegetable garden, low and behold there I was at Wal-Mart last week buying seeds for flowers. We hosted Easter dinner at our house this year it was absolutely wonderful I think we had 16 family members over to the house including children we had a spread of Spiral Ham, Prime Rib, Rotisserie chicken, Creole Okra and Tomatoes, Maccaroni and Cheese, Rosemary Redskin Potatoes, Green Beans, Field Greens Salad with homemade Croutons, and dinner rolls, Cherry Pie, and Turtle Pie, it all was delish. I had a fabulous time setting the table and to be honest i enjoyed the stress of wondering how it all was going to turn out, I have never hosted a family dinner in my own home but had been anxiously awaiting the chance to do so after we were finally settled into "Married" life I must say for our first dinner we did a great fantastic job.
